Reducing Cholesterol Level

Forty-three adult males and females consumed two pots of 100 g of yogurt containing B. longum BB536 (more than one billion B. longum BB536) or regular yogurt per day.
After 14 weeks, the level of serum total cholesterol was practically unchanged in the group that consumed regular yogurt, whereas in the group that consumed yogurt containing B. longum BB536, total cholesterol levels were decreased compared with the levels before starting consumption.
